part 1

The night was still young in Seoul. It was nice to walk around the places and shops nearby. Unfortunately, I walked pass a club with loud music. They are playing my favourite song I love to dance to. I peeped through the entrance and the crowd was huge for a Thursday night. Since I have nothing to do while waiting for Val, I’ve decided to enjoy myself without her.

“Hite, please.” I ordered from the cute bartender. “Right up, right up!” I felt his skin over my fingertips when I grabbed the bottle over. He looked at me with his naughty and flirty eyes. “Tourist?” he asked. I nodded and stood there awkwardly. “Here, it’s on me.” he made me a pinkish drink. As I wanted to raise my head and asked he wasn’t there in the bar anymore. The crowd was huge and they were cheering for someone. “Hey Yo! Let’s give it up to our Super Underground Rapper... TOP yo!” The explosion effect of the lights just made us difficult to see who’s on the stage. The light dimmed a lil. The guy standing there is tall and... Oh my god... it’s him, the bartender.

I have to admit that I was cursed in a way. I couldn’t seem to forget last night. I tried to catch my breath from the open balcony and stretched my body. My mind was totally in its auto-pilot mode, yes, I can’t keep my mind off him. “Hey!” Val slapped my butt hard enough for me to come back to earth. “Where were you last night? I thought of hanging out with ya and have some girl talk.” I can see Val really wants to spend some time together. Since the first day we came to Seoul, she has been meeting her Korean boyfriend like for 24-7. I guess she finally feels sorry about that. “I didn’t know that you’ll be back early yesterday. So I just went out for a walk and somehow went into a club...” before I could continue, Val looked at me as if she could predict what I’m gonna say next. “Yes, I met this guy and we kinda talk?” Val and I were really close friends since kindergarten. “And??” Val’s right eyebrow rose, and that’s the gesture to show that she’s interested in all the dirty details. “Nothing actually happened.” I replied her reluctantly. “TORIA! How can you not?!” Val hit me with the pillow.

Val and I spent time shopping in Dong Dae Mun after our breakfast. There are too many stores, I didn’t know where to start from and where to stop. As I slowly walked pass the stores, and came to a place where they have really unique piece of necklace with a nice pistol pendant. Someone from behind grabbed it before I could reached it. I looked up and he was wearing a colourful cap. He handed the necklace over and made payment. He said something in Korean but I didn’t understand. “Torrie! Let’s go check that store I just went in. They have really cute Baby-Ts.” Val pushed me from behind and rushed me over to the shop opposite us. Val was happily choosing those pink Tees she’s dying for. It’s not that I’m not interested in shopping, in fact I love shopping but something’s just not right. My hands were shaking and I just couldn’t focus.

I need some fresh air! I rushed back to the hotel without Val. The song in the club that night and visions kept playing... “Torrie. Wake up.” I realised I totally passed out right after I reached the room. “Baby. I need to use the bathroom.” I jumped straight up from the bed and stared at Val. “It’s right there!” Val shouted over to a guy who has really deep voice. I got my ass up right away and hide in the wardrobe to dress myself in proper. “Torrie, this is my man that I’ve been telling you about.” Val called out over the wardrobe’s doors. As I pushed open the doors, I stopped breathing for few seconds. Tor! Come back to earth! “You!” I pointed at him but he looked at me, confused. “We met...” Val took his hand and walked straight out. “See you later Torrie, we’re going out!” she rushed away and left with her voice echoed down the hallway.
